Round One of the atmospheric rivers came through last night and through this morning - and indeed had one quick wet burst just as I arrived home after a quick post-teaching trip over to the Getty - drinks and dinner prior to tomorrow's graduate symposium. The drinks out on the restaurant's top terrace had one of the most spectacular cloudy backdrops possible. If they'd constructed a huge nineteenth century panorama on rollers showing the western sky, it could hardly have been more dramatic.
