It's time for the annual poppy celebration - brighter and better than ever, probably because of all this year's rain, and because the slope is now irrigated. I take a certain amount of pride in knowing that I sowed these - or their ancestors - they aren't an official part of the garden design. As you can see, this is still very much a work in progress, although supposedly, as things get warmer, so everything will grow (certainly, there's a whole lot of lavender getting close to blooming). And yes - we need something in that corner, under the deck - like a statue, or ...
