The quickest, non-freeway route from USC to Pasadena takes one through one of those neighborhoods whose name I can never remember: El Sereno. First, it isn't especially serene. I guess it does have some serene views of mountains, which, I suspect, is where these strange glass sculptures come in. They're on top of little signs telling one that this is El Sereno (would I have known, otherwise?), and assuming that they are in some way representational, I think this might be green hills. On the other hand, someone might just have had a whole lot of surplus bright green glass.
