I'm not entirely sure why, this year, I seem to have decided to boost the Chinese economy by ordering a range of decorative birds. In addition to the twelve cardinals on the Christmas tree, there are six of these - well, they were sold as "sparrows," although mercifully they are nothing like the horrible invasive murderous sparrows around here. Here's one perching on a small branch taken from the piñon tree out front, and wedged behind a picture frame in the front hall. The cats persist in taking absolutely no notice of bird-forms: much more interested in the live robins outside.
