new lights

Waiting for it to rain ... but not quite yet.  Here are our new ground lights, just outside the back door, lighting one's way onto the deck.  Soon, there'll be a couple of hanging lights from the tree, too, I think ... we are so very much in the hands of our wonderful landscape designer that by this point I don't know whether we'll get to choose so much as the position of a pot of catmint for ourselves - but it is quite startling seeing everything come into place and, yes, start to grow.  Nearly there!  And of course, even if there's an atmospheric river charging towards us, this does mean that the planting was done at just the right time, and the little bushes and shrubs and perennials are getting a terrific damp-soil start to their life here.
