CAA outside and inside

Who knew that the Chicago Hilton (where this year's CAA is being held) was such a magnificent building?  All the conference rooms themselves are, of course, interchangeable with anywhere else in the world, but this is pretty impressive.

Outside, it's chilly.

But as well as going to papers, and trawling the book fair, the USC Art History Department and the Visual Studies Research Institute party provided both a great opportunity to catch up with lots of people, but also to celebrate the publication of Vanessa Schwartz's Jet Age Aesthetic: we raised our glasses to it!
