If last year was the year of Project Morning Glory grown from seed - many of them self-seeded this year, but so far, entirely deep purple Grandfather Ott - none of the pretty pale blue and white ones - this year is Project Sunflower. Sometime in the deep midwinter I had the vision of our front yard thick and blooming with sunflowers of many varieties. Of course, we were a month later arriving here than we'd planned, which meant that the sunflowers (in front and back) were a month later being planted than I'd planned, too - but I'm hopeful that something of this vision will come to pass ...
