sleeping it off

In part, Moth is, of course, sleeping off the bouncy attacks from Gramsci the Monster Cat.  But more noteworthy - she Caught a Lizard.  As part of her Adult Cat privileges, she's allowed out for a few minutes at lunchtime to sniff the air and eat a blade or two of grass (our yard, as you can see, is walled - and we shoo her inside immediately if we ever see her eying it).  Today - there was a sudden flurry of grey and gold cat, and in a cloud of dust, she raced into a far corner of the garden, and emerged, happily, with a lizard in her mouth.  She wanted to bring it inside - I'm sure as a present for us, not Gramsci - but when I tried to suggest she might drop it, there was a nasty crunching sound, and - well, it didn't run around any more, and so it wasn't so much fun.  But I like to think that the whole episode (poor lizard) gave her some pleasure,  because she's been understandably beleaguered for the past three weeks.
