Driving down S. Hoover to USC this morning, there was a loud and somewhat metallic bang somewhere to my left - to be followed by some smoke rising. One of those mystifying occurrences that no one, actually, seemed very troubled about. Having taken its picture, I did rather like the red white and blue on the telegraph pole ...
