Who knows what Gramsci thinks might be at the bottom of this ... well, what would you call it? It's a miniature copy of the tomb of a Roman consul from the Vatican, which my parents bought - probably from O'Hara's, our local junk shop in Brampton, near Carlisle, in the 1950s, which was the source of a great deal of our furniture. It always used to have hyacinth bulbs planted in it - and that's something I should resuscitate as a tradition, assuming Grammy doesn't excavate them. I did, just now, double check - there were a couple of paper clips in their, which doubtless were the subject of his quest.
