One of the pretty canals in Kinosaki - which is, for the most part, a very Japanese holiday spa town (and currently out of season). The main point seems to be to dress up in plain-ish kimonos and pattens and clip-clop along to hot baths (very hot).
But on the way, one could pick one's fortune from a machine;
admire the canals;
and then before or after dinner, come out and admire the same scenery by night - in one's smart flowery kimono tied with a huge and elaborate bow (yes, we called room service for a maid to come and help with ours ...).
The symbol of the town is a stork.
Or one can just sit in one's room and draw the view from the window;
or go and visit the very, very quiet - exceptionally quiet, after Kyoto - temples.
