canal, seafront, etc

A very damp morning, but it cleared up enough for us to go on a walk up the Regents Park canal - as far as Kentish Town - before lunch.  This looks like ribbed paving under a bridge - it's actually reflections.

And here's Alice, holding up the Constitution,

and showing something to my cousin Gaynor - possibly pictures of the L.A. fires that we took from our house and a friend's house - these are still scary images.

Here's The Shard, seen from below - from the train - decidedly foreshortened -

and here's the view from our room in Brighton.  And yes, it did rain again shortly after this ... but it was clear after dinner - after a very good dinner - and we went for a wander down the front.

  1. Just caught up on your London adventures and photos! Judging by the warm sweaters and wraps, the weather in London and its environs is still mercurial. Meanwhile, a mini heat wave in LA! I will have to check out the canals the next time I'm in London. So subterranean and peaceful...

  2. It is still very chilly! Mind you, the LA heatwave seems to be heading to Morocco ...
