paintings and the Heath

We woke up with rather a start: our tickets for the Courtauld Gallery's "Goya to Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Oskar Reinhart collection" show were for 10 a.m., and let's just say that we ran that very close.  A cab trip may or may not have been involved.  Above, a Corot; below, a Manet (or half a Manet): it was great to see various paintings I'd never before seen in the flesh, so to speak - but not a lot I'd want to tuck under my arm and take home.  I did enjoy seeing the little Bloomsbury room - somehow I've missed that before.

Then various London errands, and ending up on Hampstead Heath for a wander around spring flowers and views before dinner at Ottolenghi ... it was good to retread my steps from the fall, in very different weather - yes, that is a glimpse of sun at the end of the day ...
