This is the first sunflower that I've seen in Eldorado this year! It's always a marker - of high summer; of near-fall. Although I've seen sunflowers out in town, round here, they're true seasonal indicators. This is a little early, this year - doubtless a reflection of a fair amount of rain this spring. Sitting against a coyote fence, it's also a perfect local symbol.
