Another one to add to my collection of painted junction boxes, this one at the bottom of Fern Dell - and a rather imperfect picture, since I was driving at the time (though stopped at some convenient lights), en route to the dentist for an emergency visit. The more one thinks about this, the odder it is. To be sure, yes, it's California: it even has the California Republic brown bear logo at the bottom (it also, for that matter, has two lines of lettering reading SUPER UNLEADED GASOLINE, though that's probably not an intentional part of the design.). And then there are ridge after ridge of pine clad mountains (no sign of bark beetles), bright blue skies with a few circling ravens, and some fluffy white clouds. But why this particular spot for a celebration of what, surely, is Northern California? Logic?
