shedding a skin


This is so beautiful!  A lizard - a rather large lizard, I must say - wrapped itself round one of our garden fenceposts, hung on tight by its tail, and then wriggled out.  I do wish I'd seen this happening ... Apparently skin feels really itchy just before shedding, and lizards like to be able to rub themselves against something, and I'm sure this did the trick.  Somewhere out there is a lizard with a sparkling new skin for summer ...
