early August greenery


If one doesn't look too closely, this view from just outside the front door looks like acres of pure pastoral rolling away as far as the eye can see ... The allium is coming out in full force; the tall green plants are, in fact, sunflowers, seen from very low down ... and just about everything else that looks to the innocent eye like unripened wheat is in fact tumbleweed.  I spent half an hour pulling it out this morning - not the stuff beyond the confines of the flower bed at the front, or the back wall - that would be impossible.  Even that is a never-ending task ... but here, at any rate, it photographs deceptively well.
