Probably, alas, our last farmers' market (in town, at any rate) of the summer - so I was delighted that the marigold garlands were in season, at last. I guess I think of them as signaling the start of fall - like the new abundance of garlic (of which I bought a whole lot of bulbs). Despite - or because of - the pandemic, and leaves, we've spent the last two Septembers in New Mexico, and it's something of a wrench to be going back to LA early (by comparison) this time ...
