hollyhocks

Quintessential Santa Fe, at this time of year - hollyhocks against a (faux) adobe wall.  They grow especially well in this climate - we even have a self-seeded one (from where?) sprouting in our back yard.  Note the dull light (all the better for hollyhocks to seem luminous in), and the rain-splashed wall: this is between the research center and the car park, and I became much damper than I'd anticipated.
