Back in the early days of this blog, when I spent a good deal of time prowling the streets of Highland Park (NJ, not here in LA), there were a couple of constants: abandoned chairs, and abandoned paintings. What's unclear to me is whether or not these objects, in Silver Lake, are actually discarded, or whether they are - a display? What's the semiotic force of that traffic cone - don't cross this line? Don't come any closer? Or is it, too, an orphaned object?
