Today was Alice's last infusion! I don't want to minimize the fact that this also left her pale and wan and tired (this non-wan pic was taken at consultation time, before hand) - but it was so good to walk out of there. And if I felt like that, imagine how she felt... So many thanks to the cheerful team up in the infusion unit - as well, of course, as everyone on the breast unit floor. But we'll see the latter lot again on May 20th, which is The Day for imaging, and the final consultations ... and seeing, we hope oh so fervently, that all has worked how it should. And of course, that isn't exactly the end of it - she'll come in for variegated check-ups for a bit, and there's all the lingering bits of pain, and neuropathy, and strange swellings, and all the rest. But! It's been a long while since she's smiled like this on Floor 3 of Keck ...
