chained to one's cell phone

Not, really, too subtle a message (seen on the sidewalk on Hillhurst, somewhere between Albertson's and McCalls.  McCalls, today, for some tasty cheese; Albertson's for staples, and for what I swear are the friendliest store assistants in LA.  Indeed, the woman behind the cash register today was explaining that it's such a good branch to work for, and she likes her co-workers so much, that she drives 80 miles a day to be there, rather than taking a position at a closer branch.  I actually believe her.

And #WUDF?  So far as my research tells me, this is the acronym belonging to the guy who adorns sidewalks with this motif, and a few other similar ones (mostly in Santa Monica and Venice).  No idea what it means - just a couple of people grimacing at the obviousness of it all: that here's a design that's begging to be reproduced through social media, so meta meta meta yawn.
