well - a stretch of fiction, there, since these vapor trails were in the sky when I went up the road to fetch my father's paper at 7.20 a.m., and her plane didn't actually touch down until 9.50, by which time I was at LHR to meet it. But this certainly signals how Heathrow (even without a third runway, so far), has become an incredibly busy airport again. This was brought home forcibly when we were sitting in the garden at 20 late in the afternoon, and a huge jet flew over every 3 minutes. It must be the approaching storm that determined today's atypical, and maddening, flight path.
